Frequently asked questions

  • Shipping

    How much does shipping cost?

We offer free shipping for all of New Zealand (other than to the Chatham Islands, which is $20).
For Australian orders, there is a flat $10 delivery fee for orders under $72, all orders above this get free shipping as well.

    How long does shipping take?

This really depends on your location. We process orders Monday to Friday and aim to get orders processed on the same day. Shipping generally takes 2-4 days for urban areas in New Zealand, but can take up to 10 days to rural locations.

Our Australian warehouse is located in Sydney, so shipping times depend on where you are in the country relative to this.

We accept all major credit cards, including Google Pay and Apple Pay. You can also pay via Paypal if you prefer.

    Are Crafty Weka Bars vegan?

All our ingredients are vegan-friendly but do contain Manuka blend honey.

    Are Crafty Weka Bars gluten-free?

Our products contain 5 parts per million of gluten, which means we can’t call it gluten-free in New Zealand and Australia, but can in America.

We use oats in all our products, which can be a problem for some gluten-sensitive folk.

Are any of the bars nut-free?

Our Berry Berry Beetroot doesn’t contain any nuts, but is produced in an environment containing peanuts, so traces may be present.

Are Crafty Weka Bars soy- dairy- and egg-free?

    Yes, all of the above!

What type of oil is used?

    Sunflower oil.

Do you use any artificial flavourings or colours?

No, all our ingredients are completely natural.

    What is the preservative?

We use Manuka blend honey as our natural preservative.

    What are the sweeteners?

All our sources of sweetness are unrefined sugars, i.e. natural coconut sugar, Manuka blend honey, and dried fruit.

    Any sulfates or pesticide traces?

After testing, our products have come back with nil traces of sulfates or pesticides.

  • Production

Where are Crafty Weka Bars made?

At the Weka Nest in Christchurch, New Zealand.

What is the Best Before Date?

All bars have a best before date printed on the individual carton, which is one year after the date of production. As we are continually producing, your products should have close to a year’s best before on them.

    Are you Halal-certified?

Yes we are! All our products are certified Halal.

  • Packaging

    Is the packaging compostable?

Everything cradling your bars is completely home compostable, including multi-box, individual box, and wrapper.

    The wrapper looks like plastic.

The transparent wrapper is made from plant-based cello: Nature Flex by Futamura Cellulose.

Which bin do I put the packaging in?

If you have a home compost, you can put both wrapper and boxes in there. We cut ours up into smaller pieces to speed up the composting process.

If you don’t have a home compost, you can put the boxes either into your green bin or the yellow bin, and you’re welcome to drop off the cello wrapper at the Weka Nest for composting.

Even though the cello wrapper will biodegrade at a similar rate to organic materials in a composting environment, due to a lack of standardisation in the labelling of ‘compostable’ packaging, most district councils still don’t allow this packaging to be put into their green bins. We therefore recommend finding friends or contacts with home composting set ups to dispose of your cello wrappers.
